This is the story of Daily, an orphan who never thought he mattered, and of a kingdom whose luck has run out.

Far Far Lucky

Far Far Lucky is the capital of the Vimp kingdom, a magical casino-city where zeppelins moor to bell towers and horse-drawn carts share the roads with early automobiles. Outside its walls, dice plants grow in the fields like wheat. In this world, luck is not an abstraction: it is planted, harvested and owned. It is what makes the Vimp economy tick, and what makes the current drought so terrifying. Nobody, from the countryside villages to the palace, can explain why the entire kingdom has run out of luck.

The Primordial Dice

Long ago, at the time of the First Roll, a single Primordial Dice fell from the sky and rolled for seven days and seven nights. Each face revealed something new: a river, a coin, a clover, a laugh. On the seventh face, the Vimps were born. When the Dice finally came to rest, it shattered. Its shards were scattered across the kingdom and forgotten.

Each shard carries a fraction of the original power. A shard does not create luck. It moves it. Whoever holds one becomes miraculously lucky, and everyone else, in exact proportion, becomes cursed with misfortune. It is a rule everybody in the palace knows, and nobody in the fields.

A young purple Vimp raised in the countryside by an old grandmother named Mémé Sept, with nothing to his name but a tiny wooden casino. An incurable optimist, and the only one in the kingdom who refuses to accept the luck drought as normal. Something, he decides, must be causing it.

    Fleur

Vilain's daughter. Luminous, insouciant, a singer whose voice carries across the capital at sunset. She has believed for years that the drought is real, and has been quietly looking for its cause, never once imagining where the trail will lead her.

  • Tyr's collectible card, illustrated by Haider Ali

    Tyr

The high commander of the old kingdom, sworn friend of the previous king. He is remembered as a legend, a name whispered by those who still recall the night the crown changed hands. Whether he did what the legend says depends on which story you believe.

The Book

Everything you see, from the tiny wooden casino of the first level to the palace of Far Far Lucky, is drawn from The Vimps: Tome 1, a story bible written by our team. Every one of the 43 collectible cards in the game carries a fragment of that book: a place, a face, a mechanism, a legend, a memory.

You do not read the book. You play it. The pages appear one card at a time, and the story is complete when the collection is.
